When the space at W. A. Mozarts birthplace became too small, the family moved into the Tanzmeister-House in 1773. Today you can find a museum there that shows milestones of Mozarts family and is known by the name “Mozarts Wohnhaus”.
Birthplace of Salzburgs wonder boy
In the famouse house at the Getreidegasse nr. 9 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in January 1756. Together with his sister “Nannerl” and his parents he lived in this house until 1773. Nowadays a museum is located there that is open all year long.
The citys landmark
The castle has been built in the year 1077 by the archbishop of Salzburg. It is the talles complete extanted castle in Central Europe and was built as a protection of the archbishops. Furthermore the castle was used as barracks building and prision.
A jewel at the suburb of Salzburg
This phantastic palace park provides a pure variety in summer as well as in winter. Between 1612 and 1615 the archbishop Markus Sittikus orderd the building of this pleasure palace. The architect Santino Solari did so following italian examples.

This cave-system has over 42 km of length. The first, about 1 km long part, is covered with impressive ice formations and shapes and accessible for visitors. Because of the monument conservation the cave is mostly left by its natural state.

Since 1961 the cable car brings hikers, nature lovers and friends of beautifull sights to the mountain. The altitude difference is 1.320 meters. On the top station a stunning view of the city of Salzburg and the countryside of Berchtesgaden.

Since 1542, the ``Sternbräu`` step by step has become the biggest and most popular traditional beer inn of Salzburg.
